Deciding to foster is a big step, and it’s natural to have questions. Our Birmingham drop-in sessions are a relaxed way to meet the people behind Rainbow Fostering, hear what fostering is really like, and get honest answers about whether it could be right for you.
You don’t need to book or have any experience. Just come along when it suits you, stay as long as you like, and leave with a clearer idea of what happens next.
What to expect
Meet our local team. Chat with the social workers and staff who support foster carers across Birmingham every day.
Hear from foster carers. Find out what a typical week looks like, what surprised them, and why they chose Rainbow.
Get your questions answered. Ask about eligibility, the assessment process, training, allowances and the support you’d receive.
Go at your own pace. Whether you’re just curious or ready to apply, we’ll meet you where you are.
Who can come along?
Anyone who has thought about fostering, even briefly. Single or in a couple, renting or owning, working or retired, with or without children of your own: people from all walks of life make wonderful foster carers. If you have a spare bedroom and a wish to make a difference, we’d love to meet you. Friends and family are welcome too.
