At Rainbow Fostering, we love creating joyful, educational, and hands-on experiences for children and foster families — and our Manchester October Event: “At the Zoo!” was no exception! 💚
A Sensory Start to the Day 🌈
The day began in our Manchester office’s sensory room, where the children gathered for introductions, laughter, and excitement. The buzz in the room grew as we welcomed our special guest — a Zoo Host bringing along some fascinating animals for everyone to meet!

The children sat together on colourful mats and beanbags, eyes wide with curiosity, as each animal was introduced:

Laughter, Learning & A Little Mischief 😆
Our incredible Zoo Keeper shared fascinating animal facts — what they eat, how they live, and how to handle them gently and safely. The children loved asking questions, and the keeper had all the answers!
The highlight of the day? Walter the Skunk decided to go exploring around the office — much to everyone’s amusement! He quickly became the star of the show.
It was a truly interactive, sensory, and educational experience, sparking curiosity and confidence in every child who attended.
A Relaxing Time for Carers ☕
While the children were busy making animal friends, our foster carers enjoyed a well-deserved break with tea, biscuits, and great conversation. These moments are so important for building community and connection among carers.
Wrapping Up with Pizza & Smiles 🍕
We ended the day with pizza, laughter, and plenty of smiles — a perfect way to celebrate a wonderful afternoon together.
